Santa Claus

‘How do you feel now?’

‘Oh…. Am more than awesome!’

‘Really…?’

‘To be honest… I am spending some of the best moments recently… It’s really a good start for this new year. Covid positive is positive in a way…’ ( there she laughed heartily).

After the long hopeful day (being new year) all that lasted strongly in my mind to be shared here is the POSITIVITY that my dearest friend had. When covid touches with it’s feathery hands and kindles the fear harmones, not just the body trembles but those embodied kith and kins tremble too. That’s how I felt until I heard from her.

She was in home quarantine and I wanted to give her the best moral support I can…. You know what, she gave the best lesson for me today. She explained how happy it was to look at the albums which had been digested by her memory years back. She told how busy she was answering everyone’s call. She blathered about the movies she had seen. She quoted the best of her readings. She told about the exhilarating visits of the Santa Claus every morning, noon and evening. I was surprised and she explained it was the kid from the neighbourhood she loved the most, but whom she lovingly rejected to see her now, except for the food delivery at the doorsteps. She told, “ I could hear him jumping, humming and calling me out loud, then slowly he will peep in the window and try knocking the door in vain and will reluctantly tred away. He leaves exciting greetings everyday like the Santa Claus’ mind-blowing gifts.”

Life is not just about breathing and living, it’s all about loving and living. To love and to be loved is the most blissful thing one should be proud of. She gave me the moral support for lifetime with her amusing positivity, when I cut the call I thanked her for the lesson.

No wonder she touched the Covid somewhere, just as she touched the lives of many which she lived again in home quaratine heartily.
